Estate planning provides a plan for what happens to your assets at your death, and what happens to you and your assets in the event you are unable to manage your affairs. It can also protect your minor children with the naming of a guardian, conservator, or trustee. A will or trust, a durable power of attorney, and an advance directive are all part of an estate plan which can help you.
