Roger K. Evans, Attorney

Roger K. Evans is an experienced attorney with over 40 years of experience representing individuals, families, farmers, ranchers, vineyard owners, and business owners, helping them with estate planning, probate, trust administration, and business legal needs.
Mr. Evans is a member of the Marion County Bar Association and the Oregon State Bar Association. Mr. Evans is also a member of the Oregon State Bar Sections concerning Elder Law, Estate Planning and Administration, and Business Law, and is a member of the Willamette Valley Estate Planning Council, and the National Association of Estate Planning Attorneys. Mr. Evans is licensed to practice in Oregon State courts and Federal U.S. District Court. Mr. Evans follows in the footsteps of his father, Keith D. Evans, who practiced law with the firm of Goodenough & Evans in Salem, Oregon.
Mr. Evans lives in Salem, Oregon with his wife, and his two adult children. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, snow and water skiing, riding dirt bikes and mountain bikes, as well as hiking.
Marilyn Freeburn, Legal Assistant
Ms. Freeburn has over 40 years of experience as a legal assistant in the Salem area. Ms. Freeburn’s legal experience includes assisting in the areas of trusts, wills, probate, real estate, and business matters. Ms. Freeburn works closely with our clients in the organization and preparation of documents, case management, and document review, resulting in greater efficiency and lower fees for our clients.
Andrew Cousins, Legal Intern
Mr. Cousins is a third year law student at Willamette University, where he is completing his final year as a J.D. candidate. Mr. Cousins assists clients in business related matters, real estate transactions, estate planning, and probate and trust administration.
After graduating from high school, Mr. Cousins began his academic career at the University of Portland. Following his graduation from the University of Portland, Mr. Cousins began working as a paralegal at law firm that represents and assists injured workers with their workers’ compensation claims. Following several years as a paralegal, Mr. Cousins began studying at the Willamette University of College of Law.
Mr. Cousins grew up as a child of a Naval Officer. He was fortunate to live in several states and countries during his childhood. In his spare time, Mr. Cousins enjoys spending time with his wife, skiing, hiking, and cooking.
Mr. Cousins will take the Oregon State Bar Examination in July 2024.
Stephanie Lugo, Legal Intern
Ms. Lugo is a second year law student at Willamette University. Ms. Lugo assists clients in business related matters, real estate transactions, estate planning, and probate and trust administration.
After graduating from high school, Ms. Lugo earned her first Bachelors degree in Psychological Sciences and second Bachelors degree in Criminology, Law, & Society from the University of California, Irvine. Following graduation from University of California, Ms. Lugo worked as a legal assistant at a law firm that prepared estate planning, probate, trust administration, and bankruptcy. Following that, Ms. Lugo began studying at Willamette University College of Law.
Ms. Lugo grew up in San Diego, California. She was fortunate to get to study abroad during her undergraduate time living in Paris, France for 6 months. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, spending time with her dog, hiking, trying new food and drinks, and paddle boarding.
Justin Hendryx, Legal Intern
Mr. Hendryx is a second year law student at Willamette University. Mr. Hendryx assists clients in business related matters, real estate transactions, estate planning, and probate and trust administration.
After graduating from high school, Mr. Hendryx earned his Bachelors in Business Management from the University of Nevada, Reno. Since then he has worked in facilities planning at Stanford University and as a business development specialist for the cybersecurity company Fortinet.
Mr. Hendryx was born and raised in San Jose, CA. In his free time, he enjoys getting outdoors, backpacking, hiking, and skiing.
